The Appalachian College of Pharmacy (ACP) offers Virginia’s only three-year Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
ACP’s mission is to prepare pharmacists to provide excellent patient-centered pharmaceutical care and systems management to meet 21st-century healthcare challenges, with a focus on meeting the needs of rural underserved populations. Through active participation in community health education and rural outreach clinics, students endeavor to improve the quality of life of the underserved members of their communities. ACP strives to provide the highest standards of academic excellence and professionalism and instill in students a sense of social responsibility, professional collaboration and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Details: | Selected candidates attend on-campus interviews. Candidates are interviewed by a two person panel (typically one ACP faculty member and one pharmacist/preceptor). A panel of two students also interview the candidates. Assessment is based on the candidate’s oral communication skills, motivation, compassion, professionalism, leadership, and team skills. A writing sample is collected. Video conference interviews may be offered to applicants living in a foreign country. |
